The Peter H. Bach Foundation
An exhibition in the Study Area at the Jewish Museum Munich
In 1992, Peter H. Bach (1914–1998)—the grandson of the founder of the Isidor Bach clothing and sportswear store, which was Aryanized in 1936, who lives in Los Angeles—established a foundation to purchase objects which are testimonies to Jewish history, thus providing an important impetus to the founding of the Jewish Museum Munich. A selection of acquisitions recall the largest clothing store in Munich at the time and document the activities of the foundation.
