An exhibition in the Study Area of the Jewish Museum Munich

Samuel Bak was born in Vilnius in 1933 and survived the Shoah by being smuggled out of the ghetto and repeatedly hidden by his parents. His mother finally fled with him via Łódź and Berlin to Landsberg in Bavaria. At the age of only twelve, he declared his profession as "painter - artist" when registering at the DP camp in Landsberg am Lech. In 1948 he managed the still illegal crossing to Israel.
