Pinar Oegrenci: A Gentle Breeze Passed Over Us

On visible and invisible borders

New border fences and walls are being erected all over the world despite talk about globalization and the international community. But not all borders which exist between people are always—and for all of us—visible. All the more often it is a question of belonging and exclusion. In the exhibition “Say Shibboleth! On visible and invisible borders” international artists critically analyze the mechanisms of borders. The guided tour of the exhibition looks at the topics addressed by each of the works of art and makes us think about borders in our own lives.
