Workshop with the artist Pınar Öğrenci, in English

The installation »A gentle breeze passed over us« by the artist Pınar Öğrenci focuses on the fate of the Iraqi, Ahmed Shaqaqi who, while fleeing to Europe, was forced to leave his musical instrument—an oud—behind. Taking this work as a starting point, the workshop is an invitation to all those interested to explore different forms of borders in the exhibition “Say Shibboleth! On Visible and Invisible Borders.”

Pınar Öğrenci, born in 1973 in Van, Turkey, is an artist and writer who lives in Berlin and Istanbul. Central themes in her work include migration, war, collective movements, and nationalism. Her works often place the focus on the interface between poetry and politics.

Participation is included in the admission fee.
