That was great!
“The Jewish” in popular German television

April 13 through November 6, 2011

This exhibition takes us on a journey into our own living rooms through the history of mentalities and attitudes. In a total of 10 displays, it presents a kaleidoscope of the most varied moments in television from the past 60 years of popular television, some lesser and others better known. The focus is on the treatment of “the Jewish” on the screen. Popular media figures, whether in the form of “real life Jews” such as the much-loved character Hans Rosenthal, who was omnipresent for decades, and filmic strategies when dealing with Jewish subjects and roles, are similarly of importance.
